# The Predict Cup Cheat Sheet

A quick-start guide to the Predict Cup: pick World Cup teams, earn Fan Points on their matches, and see how the $2,000,000 prize pool pays out.

Welcome to Predict’s biggest event of the year so far.

For the 2026 World Cup, we’ve designed a game that lasts the entire way through. You pick your team and predict their matches, then ride all the way to the final with them.

Naturally, the further they progress, the more you earn.

On this page, you’ll get the low-down on how it works — from picking teams to earning Fan Points.

Predict is funding a prize pool for **every group** and **every knockout game** of the World Cup, with a total of **$2,000,000** in rewards on the table.

You’ll pick teams and back them through the tournament. For every team’s match, there will be a corresponding set of markets in which you’ll make your predictions. Get them right, and you’ll earn Fan Points.

Your Fan Points (and those of other fans) stack on your team’s very own leaderboard. At the end of each round, the top 500 backers of the winning team will share the round’s pool.

### Step 1: Pick Your Team(s)

First things first: you need to pick your team(s).

Your selection here will determine your outcomes in the tournament. Do you go patriotic, supporting your own country, or pragmatic, supporting those with the best chance of winning?

Remember: you’ll earn Fan Points only on your teams’ matches.

Here’s what you should know:

* You can select up to **twelve teams**, but each one runs totally independently: it has its own Fan Points, its own leaderboard, and its own prize pools. Nothing is shared between them.
* You don’t have to pick all twelve immediately — if you’d prefer, you can fill the rest of your slots later on.
* Picking a team is **free**.
* Once a team is picked, your choice is **locked in**. No swaps afterwards!

Each of your team's matches has a card of markets to predict. Every market earns you a fixed number of Fan Points if the conditions are met.

For instance, you’ll predict things like the match result, the match line spread, and whether the number of goals will be over/under a certain number.

The amount of Fan Points that you can earn from each team is different and not fixed, as there may be different types of markets for each team’s matches.

#### Qualifying for a market

To make sure Fan Points reward real trading, each market has three simple requirements. You need to meet all three for that market to count.

1. **Purchase a position.** Purchase at least 20 shares of the side you want before kickoff and lock that selection in.
2. **Hold a position.** You must hold at least 20 shares of that position when the market resolves. You’re free to trade in between, as long as you are holding your 20 shares at both kickoff and resolution.
3. **Win!** Win the bet with your position of at least 20 shares.

If you miss either requirement, that market's Fan Points will not be credited, even if your prediction was correct.

Watch your position during the match. If you sell below 20 shares and fail to buy back before the market resolves, you lose that market's Fan Points. The activity page shows your live qualification status for every market so you always know where you stand.

Notes:

1. The minimum share requirement for the Exact Score market is **40 shares**.
2. You must purchase the shares on the market. Splitting USDT into shares **will not count**.

#### The leaderboard

Every team has its own Fan Points leaderboard that ranks all of its backers.

As each of your team's matches resolves, your Fan Points are credited automatically and the leaderboard updates. There is no claim step to worry about. Your total simply grows as your team plays on.

The leaderboard shows the top 500 backers plus your own rank, so you can always see how close you are to being in the tier that earns rewards.

### Step 3: Collect Your Rewards

Predict.fun funds a fixed prize pool for every round of the tournament:

At the close of each round, the top 500 backers of each surviving team share that team's pool, paid out in tiers by Fan Points rank. The higher you rank, the bigger your reward.

The very top of the board is rewarded heavily. The #1 spot takes 15% of the pool through the Semi-finals, and that rises to 20% of the pool in the Final.

If two or more backers finish tied on the exact same number of Fan Points, there is no tiebreaker. They simply share the combined rewards of the ranks they are tied across, split equally.

Pools are paid in USDT after each round ends. Market resolution follows UMA Optimistic Oracle timing, the same trusted resolution that powers the rest of Predict.fun.

### Step 4: See Step 2

Your Fan Points are cumulative. They carry forward with your team for as long as it keeps advancing, and each round pays out on your running total. A longer run means your points, and your rewards, keep compounding.

To stay in a team's pool, your team needs to keep winning:

* In the group stage, backers of the teams that finish first or second in the group qualify for that group's pool.
* In the knockouts, your run continues as long as your team advances.

If your team is knocked out, the run stops earning and you keep everything you have already won. You cannot re-pick a new team into that slot, but any of your other teams keep going.

#### A worked example

Say you back a team and ride them all the way to the title, topping their leaderboard at #1 every round.

That is a full champion run from a single team. The #1 share jumps from 15% to 20% in the Final.

These figures are illustrative. Your actual payout each round depends on where you finish on your team's leaderboard, and the live pools and tiers are always shown in the app.

### FAQ

**Can I really pick more than one team?** Yes, up to 12. Each is a fully separate run, and you can add teams to your empty slots whenever you like.

**Can I sell my shares during a match?** Yes. You only need to hold your 20 or 40 shares at kickoff and again at resolution. What you do in between is up to you.

**What if I pick a team mid-way through the World Cup?** That's fine. There is no cutoff for when you select a team. You will just start with 0 Fan Points for that team and start earning from the next match. If you miss a kickoff, you cannot earn on that match.

**When do I get my rewards?** Pools pay out in USDT after each round ends, once markets have settled and points are finalized.

**What happens to my points if my team loses?** You keep every Fan Point and every reward you have already earned. That run simply stops, while your other teams play on.
