# Maker Rebates

Predict now pays market makers to provide liquidity.

## Why Maker Rebates?

Tight spreads and deep order books make markets better for everyone — takers get better prices, and makers get filled more often.

Makers already pay no fee on Predict, but until now, quoting tight and resting size near the touch earned nothing extra.

Maker rebates change that. Makers now earn a share of the fee takers pay on every fill, rewarding the behavior that makes markets efficient.

## How It Works

On every fill on an eligible market, the maker receives **25% of the taker fee** paid on that fill. The rebate is paid directly in the fill transaction — there's no accrual, no claim step, and no minimum payout.

**Worked example:** A taker buys $1,000 worth of YES shares on an eligible market, paying a 1% taker fee ($10). The maker on the other side of that fill receives $2.50 (25% of $10), automatically, as part of the same transaction.

Because the rebate comes directly out of the fee collected on that fill, it applies to every maker on eligible markets automatically.

## Which Markets Are Eligible?

At launch, maker rebates apply to **UP/DOWN crypto markets**. Eligible markets show a **Maker Rebate** badge in the order book, so you can tell at a glance where rebates are active.

Coverage may expand to other market categories depending on how the trial goes.

## How Long Does the Program Run?

Initially, the maker rebate trial will run for **two months**, ending **September 16, 2026**.

## How Do I See My Rebates?

Rebates you've earned are visible on the **Portfolio** page, under the **Maker Rebate** tab. You can view them two ways:

* **USDT Distribution** — amount, distribution time, and a link to the on-chain transaction.
* **Shares Distribution** — shares distributed, outcome, price at distribution, value, market, distribution time, and transaction link.

## Does this affect my Predict Points?

Maker rebates and Predict Points (PP) are complementary, not competing. Points reward resting liquidity — orders sitting on the book. Rebates reward execution — being filled. You can earn both from the same order.
